Your body is not the only thing that needs exercise - your brain needs it, too! Exercising your brain is as important for your health as exercising your body. Board games, puzzles, riddles, and even video games can help keep your brain sharp and protect it from memory problems later in life. There are plenty of things you can do to exercise your brain and keep it healthy. Here are a few ideas:
Stay Mentally Active. You’ve heard the saying "use it or lose it" and it's especially true when it comes to your brain. Games, reading and learning new activities are all fun and easy ways to exercise your mind.

Stay in touch with friends and family. This is one key factor to happiness. It can also help your brain health as well. Make friends and family a priority and spend time with them regularly.
Exercise. This is one of the best ways to keep your brain in top share. Make time for at least 30 minutes of exercise most days of the week. Exercising is a stress reliever and can even help you feel younger.
Get plenty of rest
. Don't take sleep for granted. Your brain needs a good amount of energy to work right. Sleep boost energy and allows your brain to process information. Get approximately seven to eight hours of sleep each day.
Keep healthy. Diabetes, smoking, and high cholesterol are just three risks that can affect the health of your brain. Make time for your annual check-up (Health Journey) and be sure you are taking your prescribed medicine.
Eat well. Eating healthy, antioxidant rich foods, such as broccoli, black beans, berries, tea and salmon can help provide your brain the nutrients it needs. Two quick and easy recipes:
