To get the most benefits from your medicines make sure to take them exactly as prescribed by your doctor. You may see better results when you take your medicines as directed. Here are some tips to help you stay on track with all your medicine.
Know what you're taking
Ask your doctor or pharmacist why you are taking this medicine, when you should take them, and how best to take them (with or without food, for example). Knowing how your meds work can help you buy into why you need to take them.
Add meds to your routine
A new behavior is much easier to make a habit if you pair it with an existing habit. Try to taking your medicine with an activity you do every day. For example, take it right after eating breakfast, or before brushing your teeth.
Use a pill box to get organize
A pill box is a great tool to organize your medicine. It can also help you to keep track of the medicines you’ve taken or missed. Set some time each week to pack all the medicine you need for the coming week. Pick a pillbox that has a place for each day of the week. Keep it in an easy to spot place.
Use a chart, pill calendar, or your phone’s calendar reminders to set a schedule and track when you take your medicine. Come up with a system that works for you.
