Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) Program

The COPD program is for people living with asthma, long-term bronchitis, emphysema and COPD. The program gives you tools to start using right away. You will have a team of providers working with you to find the best care plan for you.

What we offer

As part of the program you will get:

  • A breathing test to see how well your lungs are working
  • A care plan just for you
  • Tips to manage your condition
  • Educational materials to take home
  • Access to other CareMore programs, such as the stop smoking program

The COPD program will help you:

  • Learn how to live with your disease
  • Learn how to manage your medicines
  • Learn how to eat healthy and how much to eat
  • Learn how to deal with more serious health problems that may come up
  • Start exercising to help your lungs get stronger
  • Learn breathing exercises to help you breath better

We want to help you live the best life you can with COPD.

Some symptoms of COPD are:

  • Shortness of breath when you are resting
  • Breathing fast and shallow
  • Getting tired very easy or feeling tired
  • Wheezing or gasping for air
  • Blue skin, nails beds or lips
  • Weight loss
  • Needing to lean forward to breathe when you’re sitting
